Important Notes to Keep in Mind

We do not ship under any circumstances.

We can not sell to any customer in NYC or the burroughs.

We can not sell to any customers in Maine unless they have the licenses needed for importation and ownership of a hedgehog from the Wardens Office.

Deposits are non refundable.

Babies must be picked up within 2 wks of their "ready" date unless other arrangements have been made in advance with Pierce's Pogs.

I will not sell to anyone under the age of 15 who will be the primary caregiver. I will sell to a parent who will take on responsibility for the animal's welfare.

I will not sell to anyone living in a dorm unless I receive a written note of permission on school letter head from the resident director.

We are happy to have you to our home to visit these beautiful babies and choose the one that is right for you.  We encourage visitation between baby and new owner as soon as the babies are old enough to be away from mom for a little bit....usually around 5 wks.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing one of beautiful hedgehog babies.  Hedgehogs are wonderful pet but do have certain care requirements to ensure they live a happy and healthy life.  For this reason, we have a few questions we would like to ask you to ensure that hedgehog ownership is in your best interest and the hedgies. Please note that Pierce's Pogs reserves the right to refuse a sale for any reason. 

 

1.     Why do you think a hedgehog would be a good pet for you and your family? (PLEASE READ IN THE FAQ SECTION 'IS A HEDGEHOG RIGHT FOR YOU' BEFORE FILLING OUT THIS APPLICATION)

 

2.     Have you ever owned a hedgehog previously?  If so, what happened to it?

 

3.     Who will be taking primary care of the hedgie?

 

4.     Will the hedgehog be a family pet? a classroom pet? a breeder? a show animal?

 

 

5.     Do you have children and/or other pets?  How old are your children?

 

6. Where will you keep your hedgehog? (ie, in the garage, in the basement, etc...)  Is the room heated?

 

 

6.     What will you do for vet care?

 

 

7.     What type/size cage will you use for your hedgie?  What items will you have in his/her cage?

 

8.     How often do you plan on cleaning the cage?  What will you use for bedding?

 

9.     What do you plan on feeding your hedgehog?

 

10.  Are you comfortable with the idea of having to cut your hedgies nails regularly and also bathe them occasionally?

 

11.  Are you willing to care for this hedgehog for it's entire life span regardless of medical expenses, vet bills, etc?

A non-refundable $75.00 deposit is required to HOLD your selected baby hedgie.  The baby will be reserved for you up to 2wks after the approved purchase date (this means that if the babies are ready to leave on the 10th, you have up til the 24th to pick up your baby).  After that time, the baby will again be available for purchase and you will lose your deposit. The balance is due upon pick up (cash or money order).   Hedgies are  200.00 wiith the exception of Albino babies which are 185.00.  We do not ship.  We offer a 30 day guarantee, if for any reason you need/want to return your hedgie we will offer you the opportunity to select another from our available litters.  A health guarantee is also available for your hedgie.  If for some reason, the hedgie should pass away within 30 days of purchase we will extend a full refund upon receipt of a vet report with findings the cause of death was due to genetic problems or existing conditions before purchase by the customer.

 

In addition, if at any time you are no longer able to care for your hedgehog he/she MUST be returned to Pierce's Pogs.  He/she may not be sold to a third party.
